Frequently Asked Questions
We have a friend with a good camera – why should we choose a professional photographer?
Professional photographers do much more than just snap photos. A number of problems, such as bad weather, can pop up on a wedding day; it’s our job to expect the unexpected, and capture the best images
regardless of any issues that might arise. I use professional equipment that’s designed to perform well in all lighting conditions – and will always carry backup equipment to be on the safe side!
I have been photographing weddings for 12 years and have witness many gorgeous wedding days. As an experienced wedding photographer, I’ve built up a wealth of knowledge on taking beautiful wedding photos, and I'm skilled at capturing all the small details and moments that you’ll want to look back on, but don’t know it yet.
Do you photograph weddings outside of Brisbane, and do you charge for travel?
For weddings in Brisbane there’s no travel fee. I am happy to cover weddings that are outside of the those areas and in other states. Please get in touch and tell us about your day, and I'll provide you with a quote.
Do I get the high resolution digital files?
Yes you sure do. In all of our wedding photography collections, the images you receive on USB are full resolution, and all are edited ready for printing.
Why should we do an Engagement session?
A lot of people find it hard to relax in front of a camera, especially if they’re not used to being photographed. I want you to look and feel comfortable and at ease in your wedding photos, so we use Engagement
sessions to help you loosen up around the camera before the big day. It’s also a great way for us all to have some fun and get to know each another, so I can photograph your wedding in a way that suits your personalities.
How much time should we allow for our wedding photos?
In my experience, I’ve found that it’s best to allow about half an hour for family and group shots, and between one and 1.5 for your creative location shoot. Remember to allow extra time for travelling,
and if the bride’s going to be fashionably late for the ceremony, factor that in too.
While I understand that there are time constraints on wedding days, allowing plenty of time for your photos will help keep your day as stress-free as possible and get you the best images. If you’re frazzled and in a rush, it will show in your photos.
It’s your day after all, and you should enjoy every moment of it!
What if it rains on our wedding day?
It happens, but it’s no reason to let it ruin your day, I've photographed in the rain before and it can be just as beautiful! Many venues have areas that can be called into service if it rains, and before your wedding we’ll discuss some
lternative locations that we can use if necessary. If you do want to venture outside, I have a set of white rainproof parasol umbrellas that can be used in your photo session, and I'm happy to shoot in the rain if you’re
happy to get your feet a little wet!
What sort of albums do you offer and can I add an album to my collection at a later date?
I exclusively offer beautiful Queensberry albums, handmade in New Zealand. I offer a discounted album credit with two of the photography collections, however you are also welcome to invest in an album at a later date.
We live abroad, and will be travelling for our wedding, can we still book with you?
Yes, of course. I have plenty of information and resources I can email you or show you online, so you can get a feel for who I am and the way I work. I have no problem meeting up with you once you arrive
for your wedding, and have had many couples who’ve done this. There is also Skype, or we can have a chat on the phone.
What are your payment terms?
Once your $750 retainer deposit is paid, your booking is confirmed. The balance of your photography package is due the week of your wedding. Any album costs are due once the album design is complete. To ease the pressure on finances, I'm happy for you to set up a payment plan if you wish,
at no extra cost. You can pay by cash, internet banking or by credit card online.
We like what we see – how do we book you as our wedding photographer?
Great, I would love to share your wedding day with you! If your day is available, to secure it we require a retainer deposit along with your booking agreement form. Once I've received both of these, your date is booked!
Give me a call or use our Contact Form above, and we can get things underway!
